Lenten Schedule

Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, February 18th . On this day we come forward to have ashes placed on our foreheads as a sign of a willingness to change. The Distribution of Ashes will take place at:

7:00 AM Mass
12:00 Noon Mass
3:30 PM Service (Not a Mass)
7:00 PM Mass

Ashes are a sign of our willingness to change our lives and are not placed on children unless they have made their First Penance. Daily Mass is celebrated Monday through Friday at 12:00 Noon in the main church. Confessions are celebrated every Saturday from 3:00 PM to 3:25 PM. On GOOD FRIDAY confessions will be heard from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM.

Stations of the Cross: In order to increase a spirit of penance and in an attempt to deepen our prayer life by recalling Christ’s passion, suffering and death, we will be praying the Stations of the Cross every Friday in Lent at 3:00 PM in the church.

I encourage you to come and be part of this very traditional prayer. It is a beautiful way to enter more deeply into the mystery of Christ’s life poured out for us in love.

Adoration of the Eucharist: Will take place every Friday in Lent beginning at the end of the 12:00 Noon Mass and concluding with a Holy Hour at 5:00 PM. Adoration will take place in Mary’s Chapel.

Lenten Penance Service: On Wednesday, March 25, at 7:00 PM in the main church, we will celebrate our Lenten Penance Service. With several visiting priests, everyone present will be offered an opportunity to celebrate the Lord’s mercy and forgiveness in their lives. This is a fine way to prepare for the celebration of Holy Week which beings the following Sunday. Please plan on being with us.

Holy Week: Begins on Palm Sunday, March 29th , and is celebrated throughout the week that follows. The complete schedule and commentary for Holy Week will be published at a later time.

Easter Duty Obligation: Holy Communion must be received once from the First Sunday of Lent (February 22nd ) to Pentecost Sunday
(May 24th).

Pray for our Confirmation candidates: Our high school candidates for Confirmation will be on retreat the weekends of March 6, 7 & 8 and March 20, 21 & 22. Please keep them in your prayers.
