Social Outreach Committee
“You pray for the hungry. Then you feed them. This is how prayer works.”
-Pope Francis
In an attempt to live the Gospel message, the mission of the Social Outreach Committee is to provide service to the homeless and indigent. Our primary focus to date has been working with the poor and homeless inner-city community served by St. Patrick’s Church and its affiliate, Mary House.
Our projects over the past 3 years have succeeded with the guidance of Father Wilson and through the caring and generous support of the parishioners of Immaculate Conception. Our activities to date have included clothing drives, toiletry drives, school supply drives, Christmas Giving Tree, a baby shower for mother’s in need, and a project to raise funds for Bags of Hope which provides personalized duffle bags for children in foster care.
New members are always welcome and volunteers who are interested in this ministry should contact the parish office at (401) 942-1854 for additional information.
